LELAND, Miss. – The United States (US) has witnessed another episode of gun violence, this time in the Mississippi Delta region. Four people were killed and several others injured in a shooting that erupted in the small town of Leland following a high school football game.
The information was confirmed by Mississippi State Senator Derrick Simmons.

Senator Simmons stated that the shooting occurred in the downtown area of Leland, where people had gathered after the match. According to him, the incident took place as people were returning home for the weekend.
In addition to the four fatalities, at least four other victims were transported to a hospital in Greenville. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were later transferred to a larger hospital in Jackson, the state capital.
