Ottawa [Canada], October 11, 2025: Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand will undertake an official visit to India, Singapore, and China from October 12 to 17 as part of Canada’s ongoing efforts to deepen engagement under its Indo-Pacific Strategy, the Canadian government announced on Friday.
In New Delhi, Minister Anand is scheduled to meet External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade diversification, clean energy transition, and regional security.
Anand will also travel to Mumbai to interact with business leaders and promote investment opportunities aimed at enhancing economic collaboration and job creation between Canada and India.
During her stop in Singapore, Anand will meet Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations. She is expected to emphasize progress made toward a Canada–ASEAN free trade agreement and reiterate the goal of concluding negotiations by 2026.
In China, Anand will hold talks with Foreign Minister Wang Yi and other senior officials to continue dialogue on bilateral issues as the two countries mark 55 years of diplomatic relations.
The visit reflects Canada’s continued focus on fostering stable, constructive, and mutually beneficial partnerships across the Indo-Pacific region.
