Ohio (US): US President Donald Trump has officially endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy in the race for Governor of Ohio, voicing strong support for the biotech entrepreneur and former presidential candidate.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Ramaswamy as an exceptional leader capable of driving economic growth and defending conservative values. “Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio, a place I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024! I know Vivek well — competed against him — and he is something SPECIAL. He is young, strong, and smart,” Trump wrote.
Highlighting Ramaswamy’s policy priorities, Trump said the Ohio native would “cut taxes, promote Made in the USA, secure the border, support law enforcement, and defend the Second Amendment.” He concluded his endorsement by calling Ramaswamy “a very good person who truly loves our country” and declaring, “He will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio — he has my complete and total endorsement.”
Responding to Trump’s statement, Ramaswamy thanked the former president on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Thank you, President Trump! Let’s make Ohio greater than ever.”
Ramaswamy, who suspended his 2024 presidential campaign earlier this year, recently urged Republicans to focus on economic issues and move away from identity-based debates if they hope to succeed in upcoming elections. Following the GOP’s poor performance in several states, he remarked, “We got our a**es handed to us in New Jersey, Virginia, and New York City. There are two key lessons for Republicans — listen carefully,” he said in a video message posted on X.
