Los Angeles: Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green was forced to leave Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers after suffering what appeared to be a right hamstring injury in the opening quarter.
The incident occurred with 22 seconds remaining in the first quarter when Green drove toward the basket, passed the ball to a teammate, and immediately grimaced in pain while clutching his hamstring. He was later escorted to the locker room by Suns medical staff and did not return for the remainder of the game.
The setback is particularly concerning as Green had only recently returned from the same injury that sidelined him throughout the preseason and most of last season. In his season debut on Thursday—also against the Clippers—he made an impressive comeback, scoring 29 points in just 23 minutes.
The Suns have yet to release an official update on the severity of Green’s injury or his expected recovery timeline.
