“Any and all documents, proclamations, executive orders, memorandums, or contracts signed by the now infamous and unauthorized ‘autopen’ during the administration of Joseph R. Biden Jr. are hereby null and void.”
Washington, DC (US), December 3, 2025, BNN Web Staff: US President Donald Trump has invalidated all official documents signed by former President Joe Biden through the use of an autopen, declaring them “null, void, and of no further force or effect.” The statement was issued by Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social, early Wednesday.
An autopen is a mechanical device that reproduces a person’s signature, commonly used by past presidents from both parties for routine documents.
However, Trump claimed that the autopen signatures used during Biden’s administration were “unauthorized.”
In his statement, Trump said:
“Any and all documents, proclamations, executive orders, memorandums, or contracts signed by the now infamous and unauthorized ‘autopen’ during the administration of Joseph R. Biden Jr. are hereby null and void.”
He further warned individuals who received pardons, commutations, or any legal documents bearing autopen signatures, stating that the documents “have been fully terminated and hold no legal effect.”
Trump has repeatedly questioned Biden’s ability to manage the presidency, often citing his age and health. He has criticized Biden’s use of an autopen, alleging it reflected a lack of control within the executive office.
Before leaving office, Biden had issued a series of pre-emptive pardons to several family members, political allies, and high-profile figures, including General Mark Milley, Anthony Fauci, and members of the congressional committee that investigated the January 6 Capitol attack. The pardons were widely viewed as a defensive move ahead of Trump’s return to office.
With Trump’s latest declaration, questions are likely to arise over the legal standing of the pardons and other documents signed during Biden’s tenure.
