Sydney (Australia), October 15, 2025: British social media personality “Big John” Fisher, famed for his viral fast-food reviews and catchphrase “bosh,” has been detained in Australia due to a visa complication, forcing him to cancel scheduled appearances in Perth and Sydney.
Fisher arrived in Western Australia on Tuesday for a tour across the country. In social media posts, he revealed that border authorities questioned him for four hours. Although he claims his visa was valid, officials reportedly took issue with him engaging in work during his stay, and he is expected to be deported back to London.
A spokesperson for the Australian Border Force declined to comment on individual cases, citing privacy concerns.
Posting online, Fisher expressed disappointment about spending his 52nd birthday in a detention hotel. “I’m still smiling and I still love Australia,” he wrote, ending with his signature exclamation, “bosh.” He also noted that while fans offered to deliver food, authorities did not allow him to receive it, suggesting donations to local food banks instead.
Fisher’s son, British heavyweight boxer Johnny Fisher, confirmed on Instagram that his father would be flown home, joking about fears over his “express pace bowling ahead of the Ashes.”
The star had planned to appear at four events during his visit, including hosting a “Bucking Bull” challenge at a greyhound racing event in Sydney and performing a DJ set at a horse racing meet in Perth.
