Toronto (Canada), November 24, 2025 —BNN Web Staff- A 51-year-old Indian man visiting Canada on a six-month tourist visa has been convicted of criminally harassing two teenage girls near a high school in Ontario. The accused, Jagjit Singh, had arrived in Canada in July to meet his newborn grandchild.

Authorities say that soon after reaching the Sarnia area, Singh began frequenting the smoking zone outside a local high school, where he allegedly approached and harassed female students.

Between September 8 and September 11, Singh repeatedly approached teenage girls, attempted to take photographs with them, and made inappropriate remarks related to alcohol and drugs, according to Canadian media reports.

As reported by The Winnipeg Sun, one of the victims initially refused his request for a photo but later agreed, hoping he would leave. Instead, Singh allegedly invaded her personal space and attempted to put his arm around her. The uncomfortable teen quickly pushed him away.

Following his conviction, Singh has been ordered to be deported from Canada and will be permanently barred from re-entering the country.
