Tel Aviv [Israel], December 13, 2025, BNN Web Staff: Israel has formalised a long-term partnership with the United States’ space agency after signing a 10-year strategic cooperation agreement with NASA, aimed at deepening collaboration in space science, technology and exploration.

The agreement was signed by Israel’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Gila Gamliel, during an official visit to NASA headquarters in Washington, where she held meetings with the agency’s senior leadership.

The discussions focused on advancing joint missions and strengthening scientific cooperation between the two countries.

As part of the expanded partnership, Israel and NASA will work together on a range of high-profile initiatives, including participation in the Artemis programme, lunar and deep-space research projects, the MARE experiment, the launch of Israel’s ULTRASAT satellite, and scientific experiments aboard the International Space Station. Cooperation will also extend to space education and research development.

A key highlight of the talks was Israel’s ambition to train and send its first female astronaut into space, a goal the minister described as the country’s next major national milestone in space exploration.

Calling NASA Israel’s most important strategic partner in space, Gamliel said the decade-long agreement reflects mutual confidence in the two nations’ ability to jointly lead cutting-edge scientific and technological innovation, from lunar missions to space station research.

The agreement is expected to further strengthen Israel’s position in the global space ecosystem while reinforcing long-standing scientific ties with the United States.
