Major Cloudflare Outage Disrupts X, Uber, OpenAI, and Other Major Platforms

A widespread outage at cybersecurity giant Cloudflare on Tuesday brought down several major online platforms, including the social media site X, OpenAI, Gemini, Pepplexity, Uber, and Canva, causing significant disruptions for users.

The exact number of websites affected by this outage is not yet known. However, Cloudflare has acknowledged the issue in an official statement.

Cloudflare Investigating the Cause

In its statement, Cloudflare confirmed the outage but noted that it would take some time to understand the full scope of the impact, and that work to resolve it is ongoing.

The statement read: “Cloudflare is aware of a problem and is actively investigating an issue that is impacting multiple customers: mass 500 errors. The Cloudflare dashboard and API are also failing.”

Over 3,000 User Complaints Registered

An X user reported that, like other platforms, services on X were affected by the outage. Although the social media platform was restored for some users after a while, many continued to report issues.

According to Downdetector, complaints about Cloudflare peaked at 5:37 PM, with over 3,000 reports registered in India alone.
