Good news for Apple iPhone users in India. Apple on Tuesday updated its AppleCare+ coverage plans in the country, introducing new annual and monthly options. These new plans are particularly significant as they alleviate concerns about your iPhone being lost or stolen. The company states that the new plans are more affordable and offer customers greater flexibility to protect their Apple devices for longer.
Key Enhanced Feature: Theft and Damage Coverage
The most important feature of the updated plan is that AppleCare+ for iPhone now covers up to two incidents of theft or damage per year. Furthermore, all the standard benefits—such as Priority Support, battery replacement, and unlimited accidental damage repairs—remain available.
Plan Details and Service Fees
Every new iPhone comes with a one-year limited warranty and 90 days of complimentary technical support. An AppleCare+ subscription extends this coverage to two years from the purchase date and adds accidental damage protection.
The company has specified that for each accidental damage incident, the service fee will be:
- ₹2,500 for screen or back glass damage.
- ₹8,900 for any other accidental damage.
New Flexible Payment Options
Until now, AppleCare+ was only available with annual plans. However, the company has now updated its customer tiers by adding a monthly payment option. The new plans start from ₹799 per month, making it easier for customers to choose a plan that best fits their needs and budget.
