Washington, DC, October 15, 2025: The United States military has conducted a strike on a vessel suspected of involvement in drug trafficking off the coast of Venezuela, killing six individuals described as “narcoterrorists,” President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said the targeted vessel was “affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization,” though he did not identify the group or present further details.
“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking narcotics and linked to international narcoterrorist networks. It was moving along a known drug trafficking route,” Trump wrote.
“The operation took place in international waters. Six male narcoterrorists on board were killed. No U.S. forces were injured.”
This is reportedly the fifth such operation acknowledged by Washington, following a similar strike confirmed by the Pentagon earlier in October. The U.S. has intensified its maritime surveillance and counter-narcotics operations in the Caribbean and Latin American regions amid growing concerns over transnational drug networks and their alleged terror links.
