Trump declares end of Gaza war in historic address to Israeli Parliament

Knesset, Israel | October 13, 2025:US President Donald Trump, in a landmark address to the Israeli Parliament, proclaimed the official end of the Gaza war, describing it as the “historic dawn of a new Middle East.” Declaring that the forces of “chaos, terror, and ruin” had been defeated, Trump said the “long and painful nightmare” was finally over for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Trump hailed the US-brokered ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, saying the agreement would usher in a “Golden Age” of peace and prosperity across the region. “This is not just the end of a war—it is the end of an age of terror and death,” Trump told the Knesset, becoming the first US president since 2008 to address the Israeli Parliament.

The peace accord includes the full demilitarisation of Gaza and disarmament of Hamas. Trump emphasised that Israel had “won all that it could by force” and that now was the time to transform those victories into lasting peace.

“For so many families across this land, it has been years since you have known a single day of true peace. But now, the nightmare is finally over,” he said, adding that twenty hostages were returning home after two years of captivity.

Recalling the October 7, 2023, attacks that killed over 1,200 Israelis, Trump vowed, “America joins you in those eternal promises—Never Forget, and Never Again.”

Highlighting his administration’s diplomatic record, Trump claimed to have “settled eight wars in eight months,” promising a future built on “faith, hope, and God.”

The US President urged Middle Eastern nations to abandon extremism and work together for stability, stating, “The responsible nations of this region should no longer be adversaries—they should be partners, even friends.”

Calling for an end to hatred and violence, Trump said, “Decades of terrorism and anti-Semitism have brought nothing but misery. It’s time for peace and renewal.”

Trump’s visit, marked by emotional reunions with freed hostages and warm welcomes from Israeli leaders, was described by the Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana as “a day that will be remembered as the rebirth of hope in the Holy Land.”
