Washington DC (US), November 23, 2025-BBN Web Staff: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his attack on a group of Democratic lawmakers who urged American service members to reject unlawful commands, branding the legislators as “traitors” and insisting they should face imprisonment.

In a late-Saturday post on his social media platform, Trump condemned the lawmakers behind the video message released earlier in the week, arguing they had encouraged the military to undermine his authority.

“The traitors who told the military to disobey my orders should be in jail right now, not appearing on fake news networks trying to justify themselves,” Trump wrote, claiming their message amounted to “sedition at the highest level.”

Trump added that such actions were a “major crime,” insisting there was “no other interpretation” of their remarks.

His comments came two days after he sparked controversy by suggesting that the Democrats involved deserved the death penalty, writing: “Seditious behavior, punishable by death!”

The 90-second video at the center of the dispute was originally shared on Tuesday by Senator Elissa Slotkin, a former CIA officer. The clip featured several Democratic lawmakers with backgrounds in the military and intelligence services.

In their message, the lawmakers accused the Trump administration of attempting to position U.S. troops against American citizens and reminded service members of their obligation to reject unlawful directives.

“Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders,” they said, although they did not specify which orders they believed would violate the law.
