Washington DC (US), April 15, 2026, BNN Web Staff: Donald Trump has indicated that fresh negotiations with Iran could take place in Pakistan soon, with Washington increasingly considering Islamabad as the venue for reviving stalled diplomatic efforts.
According to recent statements, the US President suggested that talks between Washington and Tehran may resume within days, with Pakistan playing a key mediating role amid ongoing tensions and a fragile ceasefire.
While some reports circulating online claimed that Trump would personally lead the talks and even made a reference to enjoying “Nihari,” there is no confirmation of such specifics from official or widely verified sources.
Credible reports indicate that US delegations, led by senior officials, have been handling negotiations so far, with Trump only signalling a possible visit.
Earlier rounds of talks between US and Iranian officials were held in Islamabad, marking one of the highest-level engagements between the two countries in decades.
However, the discussions failed to produce a breakthrough, with major disagreements persisting over Iran’s nuclear programme and enrichment limits.
Pakistan has emerged as a key intermediary, credited with facilitating dialogue and helping secure a temporary ceasefire between the two sides.
Analysts say the country’s strategic ties with both regional and global players make it a suitable venue for sensitive negotiations.
