Tel Aviv, Israel | October 13, 2025: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday announced his nomination of US President Donald Trump for the Israel Prize, the nation’s highest civilian honor, praising him as “the greatest friend that Israel has ever had in the White House.”
The announcement was made during a historic session of the Knesset, where Trump received a standing ovation for his role in brokering the ceasefire with Hamas, which led to the release of all 20 living hostages and marked the formal end of the two-year conflict.
Netanyahu lauded Trump’s unwavering support for Israel, including his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the US embassy relocation, acknowledgement of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and his backing of Israel at the United Nations. He also highlighted Trump’s role in the Abraham Accords and his decisive efforts to bring the hostages home.

“I have seen many US presidents, but I have never seen anyone move the world so quickly and decisively as our friend President Donald J. Trump,” Netanyahu said.

Trump, who arrived in Israel as the hostage exchange concluded, is also scheduled to attend the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, to further advance his Gaza peace initiative.
Netanyahu described Trump’s peace proposal as a milestone achievement, saying it fulfilled all of Israel’s war objectives while “opening the door to a historic expansion of peace in our region and beyond.”

“President Trump, we welcome you to thank you for your pivotal leadership—the plan that brought all our hostages home and ended the war successfully,” Netanyahu added.
