In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump lashed out at former allies including Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones, branding them “nut jobs” and “troublemakers.” He accused them of turning against him for “cheap publicity” and suggested they were indirectly supportive of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.
The US President also took personal digs at the commentators—reviving his long-standing feud with Kelly over her 2016 campaign questions, mocking Carlson’s background, and criticising Owens over recent controversies. He further said Jones “deserved to go bankrupt,” referencing his legal troubles related to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
The remarks come amid disagreements over what the administration has described as a successful military campaign against Iran, reportedly dubbed “Operation Epic Fury.” While Trump and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth have termed the operation a “total and complete victory,” critics argue it contradicts his “America First” agenda and risks entangling the US in a costly conflict.
Trump also dismissed criticism from media outlets like The New York Times and CNN, accusing them of publishing a “fake” 10-point Iran negotiation plan to undermine his administration.
The backlash from those targeted was swift. Owens responded with a brief but pointed remark, while Jones, in his broadcast, framed the situation as a struggle for Trump’s “direction,” suggesting external influences were shaping his decisions.
