Moscow (Russia), May 4, 2026, BNN Web Staff: Russian air defence systems intercepted two drones headed toward the capital, with authorities confirming that no casualties were reported.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said the drones were neutralised by the country’s defence forces before reaching their intended targets. Emergency teams were deployed to the crash sites to assess the situation and secure the area.

In a separate incident earlier, one drone reportedly struck a residential building in western Moscow. However, officials confirmed that the impact did not result in any injuries.

Amid the ongoing conflict, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Yerevan, focusing on strengthening coordination with European partners.

Zelenskyy emphasised efforts to intensify diplomatic pressure on Russia and push for an end to the war, while also highlighting plans to boost Ukraine’s air defence and energy resilience ahead of winter. He noted ongoing work on a major European support package and broader cooperation in the energy sector.

The Ukrainian President also held talks with leaders from Norway, Finland, and the Czech Republic ahead of the European Political Community Summit, where regional security and continued support for Ukraine are expected to dominate discussions.
